lakme india fashion week

favorite looks from this season's shows coming soon -- but for now...check out naomi campbell walking the "mai mumbai" charity fashion show in this vikram phadnis sari.

**correction: the sari campbell modelled is by sabyasachi, not vikram phadnis. she also modelled a vikram phadnis red kurta top (below right).

pinto de-glammed

after seeing the slumdog millionaire starlet dolled up time and time again in couture gowns and drool-worthy accessories, it's refreshing to see her in a look like this. she can certainly carry both looks quite well.

duplicity

a little treachery always keeps things interesting, doesn’t it? well in entertainment, that is – so entertain yourself this season by cheating on spring’s usual ethereal look of innocence with tough & sharply tailored blazers, strong & sturdy sandals, and most of all, a sly attitude…

in bloom

cherry blossom season is always a romantic time. representing femininity and love, the famous cherry blossom trees bring thousands and thousands of people to washington, d.c., every spring to picnic by the tidal basin shore, stroll through parks, take part in the many festivals and shows, or simply admire the fleeting charm of these gifted beauties

i can see clearly now

though the current times may allow for blurred directions, maintaining a crystal-clear focus of the wonderful times ahead is sometimes all we need. and what better to do that with than a fun pair of glasses?

power couple

purple & red -- a combination of hues rarely seen together as they both represent strength, boldness, vivacity, and immense spirit...but when paired as one in the right way, balance can be found, and the end result is strikingly beautiful...

divine night

imagine an intimate dinner party with abundant candlelight, small bites of heavenly foods, and this gorgeous collection of plates and platters...

from
rosanna, inc. --

HEAVENLY: "A hint of a wing, a flutter of ribbon, and a glimpse of a dimpled leg rendered in 24 karat gold. Playful Italian cherubs flit across this collection. Layer in with our gold rim dinner plates for an effect that's truly heavenly."

being at ease

there's nothing like a day of lounging around in a big-chunky-oversize-knit sweater in cold winter months.

mary mcfadden : goddesses

from washingtonpost.com

"michelle obama isn't the only one bringing fashion to washington. the national museum of women in the arts will showcase the
works of fashion designer mary mcfadden, who has more than 100 collections to her name. the exhibition explores the inspiration mcfadden drew from a slew of ancient cultures, including greece, dynastic china and africa. (march 20-aug. 30)"

extremely thrilled to view this exhibition, as mcfadden's works are described to be a true collaboration of style and culture – giving credibility to the term “fashion is art.”
